HISTORY

The Salty Dog is a Greyhound with a salted rim, a simple change that sharpens the grapefruit’s bitterness. Gin was the usual base before vodka took over in the 1950s, and both versions remain in bars. The salt does the work of a garnish and a seasoning at once.
