HISTORY

The Screwdriver is a simple highball of vodka and orange juice, popular in American bars from the 1940s. Its name is usually explained by a story about oil-rig workers stirring the drink with a screwdriver. It became a mid-century staple and the base of the Harvey Wallbanger.
