HISTORY

The Piña Colada was popularised in Puerto Rico in the 1950s, with both Barrachina and the Caribe Hilton claiming its creation. Rum, pineapple juice and coconut cream are blended with ice into a thick, sweet drink. It became Puerto Rico’s national cocktail and a symbol of tropical tourism.
