HISTORY

The Hurricane was created at Pat O’Brien’s in New Orleans in the 1940s, when rum was cheaper than whiskey and bar owners needed to move surplus stock. The drink was served in a lamp-shaped glass that gave it its name. Passion fruit, lemon and grenadine make it sweet-tart and dangerously easy to drink.
