HISTORY

The Hemingway Daiquiri, or Papa Doble, is associated with Ernest Hemingway’s years in Havana and with Constantino Ribalaigua at El Floridita. It adds grapefruit juice and maraschino to the Daiquiri formula and cuts the sugar, producing a dry, bitter-edged sour. Hemingway reportedly drank them in quantities that would flatten most people.
