HISTORY

The Blue Lagoon is a vivid blue highball of vodka, blue curaçao and lemonade, usually credited to Andy MacElhone at Harry’s New York Bar in Paris. It arrived as blue curaçao became widely available in the late 1960s and spread through holiday bars in the 1970s. Its colour is the point, but the orange-flavoured curaçao and fresh lemon keep it drinkable.
