HISTORY

The Mary Garden is named for the Scottish-American soprano Mary Garden, one of the most famous opera stars of the early twentieth century. It appears in the Savoy Cocktail Book as a gin-and-vermouth drink with a floral, bittersweet profile. Its creator and first appearance remain uncertain, and it is now one of the rarer Savoy recipes.
