HISTORY

The Corpse Reviver No. 2 is the most famous hangover “cure”, published by Harry Craddock in the 1930 Savoy Cocktail Book with the warning that “four of these taken in swift succession will unrevive the corpse again”. It combines gin, Cointreau, Lillet, lemon juice and a dash of absinthe. Predecessors date to the 1861 Punch magazine and an 1871 Gentleman’s Table Guide recipe.
