HISTORY

Jerry Thomas printed a gin sour alongside brandy and rum versions in 1862, codifying the three-part sour formula of spirit, citrus and sugar. The gin version is the lightest of the family and a direct ancestor of the Clover Club and the White Lady. Egg white is optional but gives the drink a silky head.
