HISTORY

The White Lady began as a crème-de-menthe drink in the 1910s, but the gin, Cointreau and lemon version became standard in the 1920s. Harry MacElhone and Harry Craddock both printed versions, and the drink became a Savoy staple. Egg white is optional but gives the cocktail its characteristic silkiness.
