HISTORY

The Sidecar is a cognac sour with orange liqueur, created in the years after the First World War. Paris’s Harry’s New York Bar and London’s Buck’s Club both claim it, and the dispute has never been settled. Its proportions vary from equal parts to a drier, cognac-led build; all versions rely on the tension between grape and orange.
