HISTORY

The Ward Eight was created in Boston around 1898 to celebrate a local political victory, according to the most common account. Rye, lemon, orange juice and grenadine make a bright, sessionable sour. The creator is usually named as Charlie Carter at Locke-Ober, but the story has never been fully verified.
