HISTORY

The Jack Rose is an apple-brandy sour whose name and exact birthplace are both disputed. It appears in American bartending books in the 1910s and was a staple of New York and New Jersey bars. Applejack, lemon and grenadine produce a pink drink that was already old-fashioned by the time Prohibition made it notorious.
