HISTORY

The modern Tequila Sunrise was created in 1972 by Bobby Lozoff and Billy Rice at the Trident in Sausalito, California. It became famous after the Rolling Stones adopted it as a tour drink. Tequila and orange juice are laced with grenadine, which sinks and creates a sunrise effect.
