HISTORY

The French Connection pairs cognac with amaretto in equal parts, usually over ice. It emerged in the 1970s, taking its name from the era’s famous film, and became a fixture of American and European bar lists as a simple, almond-scented digestif. Its creator is unknown, and the drink’s charm lies in its proportions rather than its complexity.
