HISTORY

The French 75 is named after the French 75mm field gun, whose recoil was said to match the drink’s punch. It was popularised at Harry’s New York Bar in Paris during the First World War and printed by Harry MacElhone in 1923. Gin, lemon and sugar are topped with champagne, making a drink that is both delicate and strong.
