HISTORY

Henry Charles Ramos created the Ramos Gin Fizz in 1888 at the Imperial Cabinet Saloon on Gravier and Carondelet Streets in New Orleans. Originally called the New Orleans Fizz, it was notoriously laborious: a 12-minute shake, with relays of shaker boys struggling to meet demand. Ramos moved to The Stag in 1907, and the recipe stayed secret until after Prohibition.
