HISTORY

Charles H. Baker Jr. recorded Remember the Maine in Havana in 1932, naming it after the slogan of the Spanish-American War. Rye, sweet vermouth, cherry brandy and a dash of absinthe make a rich, anise-scented Manhattan variation. It is one of the great drinks of the pre-war Havana bar scene.
